Nursery Update and Annoucements

by Justin Russell on June 11, 2009

With winter well and truly upon us, our 2009 bare-root tree season is drawing to a close. Some varieties are sold out (cherries and apples have been the best sellers), while stocks of others are getting low, so if you’re thinking about ordering now is the time to do it. Any remaining stock will be potted up for sale in spring, but choice will be limited. Click here for a catalogue and order form.

New Monthly Newsletter

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new monthly newsletter. Delivered free via email, the Thistlebrook Newsletter will be published in addition to our regular updates, and it contains different content from either the website, or my regular column in the Toowoomba Chronicle. There will be practical tips and tricks for getting the most out of your garden, a list of jobs for the month, features like organic recipes and quotes from wise gardeners, plus a host of other bits and pieces. To top it off, we’ll be offering special discounts and other goodies exclusive to newsletter subscribers. To join the mailing list simply sign up here. Look out for issue one early next week!

Workshops

The other bit of important news is that we’re currently in the process of finalising details for our practical workshops, with planning under way for the first series starting in spring. For those who’ve always wondered what the “garden school” bit is all about, the explanation is simple. Our goal at Thistlebrook is to help you get the most out of your garden. Selling decent, gardenworthy plants is one way of achieving this, but we think that passing on our gardening experience is equally important. Workshops will cover all kinds of topics from GIY to propagation, but our aim is for you to head home refreshed, inspired, and brimming with ideas for your own backyard. Watch this space for details in coming months!

Happy Gardening,

Justin
